Gold dust in the air

Back in September I wrote about belief in yourself and your goals. Today, I'd like to build on that.

Here's what I've noticed in life. When you announce your intention - not only to yourself, but to your circle of influence - its amazing how things seemingly come out of nowhere to make it work.

I remember reading once, that "there's gold dust in the air!" It really struck a chord with me. Opportunity is EVERYWHERE! All you need to do is announce your intention, and start moving towards it. Invariably, if you continue to move towards your goal, you'll achieve it. But what's interesting, is - despite the amount of planning to achieve the goal - how often the results come from unexpected sources; seemingly from nowhere.

I'm sure you've experienced that too... you're fully expecting to see results from actions A, B, and C. However, in the course of events, you also did actions D, E, and F - but they were seemingly unrelated to the achievemet of the goal. Yet low and behold, they engineer the desired result. And what's more uncanny, it seems to usually come quicker than you expected!

So have some faith - there IS gold dust in the air. Just keep moving in the right direction and it will find you.

Where are you looking??

Ever notice how sometimes things just seem to be going your way? Its like you're on a roll and nothing can get you off that track? How, for a brief moment in time, you are invincible?? Well - I've noticed that its possible to keep on that track. That in almost every instance, people derail *themselves* from that train to success.

Why?!?

Well, the reasons are entirely personal... Maybe something else - life - gets in the way. Maybe that feeling of "oh geez, things are going so well, they HAVE to stop sooner or later... when will this turn bad again?" starts to take over... We all know that feeling. But notice the change in focus?? Right before that, you're concentrating on how good things are going - and guess what?? They keep going well. And then the second you stop thinking that - you fall down. If you don't believe me... try walking a thin line. The second you think its hard, or you start thinking about if and or when you'll fall off that line, you generally do (I would caution you - if you actually DO try this, don't make the line a high-wire - no need to get hurt just to prove a point!).

However, if you concentrate on staying on the line - or better yet: concentrate on where you're going - surprise surprise, you actually get there!!

So don't stop the juggernaut - keep looking towards success and keep moving in that direction!

Recipe for Success!

Plan the work and work the plan.

How many times have you heard or read that phrase? Well - today makes it one more time. But get this - today I have a fantastic example of what that all means.

A few months ago I made a decision that I was going to start a new project - do something I've NEVER done before. I wrote out my goal, I planned the strategies and tactics I needed to achieve to make this goal a reality - and today, the goal became real!!

Its just a gentle reminder that you can do anything if you plan for it to happen. The biggest key for my success today, is not that I managed to achieve something - but rather, that I took the time to plan my course of action, and followed that plan. Was it possible that things could get in my way and cause failure? You bet! But I did everything I could to mitigate that potential, and it worked!! I love it when I catch real-world examples of "common sense" actually working. We all know this stuff - but how often do we apply it?!?

So no big sermon today - just know that if you plan the success, and work the plan, success is inevitable. Failure to plan?? Its like planning to fail.

It really is that simple.
